My new album, “a.NOTHER i.NVENTION,” is a folk-pop collection of newly written songs with ukulele and piano. Upbeat, happy songs were the goal for this album and these catchy melodies were written with the inspiration of AI-generated lyrics.

And yes! You heard me right. The other main goal for this album was to utilize new tools with artificial intelligence. So, yes, the lyrics were almost all generated by AI and seven songs were generated by Udio with my text prompts and decision-making during the creative process. Even my cover image is generated with deep AI machine learning – soooooo, it’s not even a real picture of me.

Why involve AI?

This album delves into the intersection of human creativity and artificial intelligence, exploring how machine learning is reshaping music and art. This album serves both as an experiment and a statement, blending human-composed pieces with tracks generated by the advanced AI tool, Udio.

By alternating between my original compositions and those crafted with Udio, I aim to highlight the current capabilities and limitations of AI in music creation. This project reflects my ongoing dialogue with the digital age, questioning the evolving definition of artistry and the role of technology in our creative processes.

This album description was half written by ChatGPT. I wrote an article about my experience collaborating with A.I. and used that material to generate a nice description of my album’s intent.

The music found on this album is generally based around ukulele and piano, with folk pop and jazz undertones that give it an acoustic, yet modern sound.
