I think most artists use projects as an escape - for me at least, I tend not to look back much at previous creations; I just keep moving forward.

But. After speaking with some friends over the last few weeks, I felt inspired to post these lyrics from a recent single of mine.

Synthesia.io is a web-based platform for creating videos with AI avatars. Put in a text prompt and it outputs narrated videos.

This video I made was a few test runs stitched together (the slides aren't editable in the trail 😂), but then I got bored and start giving the bots nonsense to read. Then I edited together to make something even more strange...

These are bots - NOT real people.

So... this might make you angry 😬

Midjourney is an A.I. engine that creates artworks based on the user's text prompts (originally recommended to me by @vincefavilla).

With a single prompt of mine, I did 100's of iterations that took a few hours of choosing variances and finding new paths from the initial creation. This post is completely ORIGINAL art - and for me, it poses many questions of the role of artists and the tools they use.

The founder of this new tool has said:

"What does it mean when computers are better at visual imagination than 99 percent of humans? That doesn’t mean we will stop imagining. Cars are faster than humans, but that doesn’t mean we stopped walking. When we’re moving huge amounts of stuff over huge distances, we need engines, whether that’s airplanes or boats or cars."

New piano album dedicated to my mom, released on my 6yr wedding anniversary!

When I visited my mom at the Cancer Center, there was an old, out-of-tune upright piano available for anyone to play. After taking some time to improvise a little something, I stopped and noticed a few patients and employees had been actively listening. Their smiles and gratitude made me realize how much we musicians can take for granted - having the ability to share beauty is a very powerful and important role we can play in people's lives. 🎶🎉😎🎧🤘

So in the spirit of that experience, I hope this album can provide some beauty to my mom and others who may be going through difficult times.

I released this album on my 6yr anniversary with my wife, my best friend, and my life partner. If I had the money, I'd buy the space for an entire billboard ad of your beautiful face! Though I know you'd never allow it, the world should know how amazing, how self-sacrificing, and how intelligent you are, saving lives in hospitals and being one of the most thoughtful nurses out there. With much love and gratitude, happy anniversary - only 68 more years until we hit 99!

“Purple Trees” is a 15-track, piano solo album of recent improvisations with the intent of creating a calming, pure atmosphere in a world full of conflict. Gentle melodies and beautiful harmonies weave in and out of the foreground over the course of this hour and twenty-minute piano music album dedicated to my mother. 🎉

Without dissonance, we could not have a resolution. And without beauty, we could not have conflict. So I’m happy to balance my portfolio a bit, by adding nearly an hour and a half of harmonious piano music.

Recycled cardboard with wooden frame, drywall spackle, white spray paint, golden metallic spray paint, sharpie, graphite pencil, and a lot of texture with sand paper, loose grains of sand, and box openers to cut things up!

Came out pretty different. Largest sized art project to date 🤘 what do you think?
